How BAMRR collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information when you use our website, become a member or attend an event.

This privacy policy describes how the British Association of MR Radiographers (BAMRR) collects and uses your personal information. BAMRR is committed to protecting your personal information when you use the BAMRR website and/or join as a member. This policy was agreed in July 2018 and updated in April 2020. Further updates will be made periodically.

Data that BAMRR collects

When you join as a member, we collect the information you provide on the subscription form, including your name, contact address, job role and email address.

When you book a BAMRR event, we collect the information you provide, which may include:

  • Your name and contact address
  • Your job role and email address
  • How long you have worked in MRI
  • Details of where the invoice should be sent
  • A manager’s name and email address, where applicable

This information will have been provided by you, or by a manager or colleague on your behalf, to enable you to attend a BAMRR course.

The BAMRR website, www.bamrr.org, contains links to third-party websites. These sites are used at your own risk and are subject to their own privacy policies. BAMRR is not responsible for their privacy practices concerning your data.

How BAMRR uses your data

When you join as a member, the details you provide are maintained by the BAMRR Membership Secretary and stored securely through the BAMRR website. Your data is only accessible to authorised members of the BAMRR Policy Board.

BAMRR may use your information to:

  • Administer your BAMRR membership
  • Provide information about upcoming BAMRR courses and conferences
  • Send relevant third-party course or conference information
  • Send you copies of the BAMRR Newsletter
  • Administer course and conference registrations
  • Provide event information and follow up invoice payments

BAMRR will not send you information other than the communications described above.

Sharing your information with others

BAMRR will never share your full personal data with a third-party organisation without your express consent.

We may share your name and site of work with BAMRR conference sponsors if they request this information for their records. We will not share your email address, home address or contact telephone numbers with conference sponsors.

Your right to control your information

You have the right to:

  • Limit the collection and use of your personal data
  • Request a copy of the data BAMRR holds about you
  • Have inaccurate information corrected
  • Request the erasure of your information where applicable
  • Change your contact preferences

BAMRR may request proof of identity before responding to a data request, correcting inaccuracies or erasing information.

We will retain the information you provide through the BAMRR website and membership records while you remain a BAMRR member. If your membership expires, BAMRR may keep a basic record on file but will not contact you again unless your membership is renewed.

The data controller for your information is the BAMRR Membership Secretary. To change your contact preferences, contact the Membership Secretary using the BAMRR Contact page.

How BAMRR protects your information

BAMRR will not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for any purpose. We maintain reasonable safeguards intended to protect your data.

We will retain your information only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this privacy notice. We will not knowingly retain more information than is required.

All BAMRR Policy Board members who have access to personal data are required to process it in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.
