Supporting Safe MRI Practice
BAMRR were recently invited to join the British Cochlear Implant Group (BCIG) MRI Working Group.
The aim of the group is to carry out a revision of the existing BCIG website content on safety and MRI to ensure it is up-to-date and has the appropriate information and support available for both patients and healthcare professionals involved.
Reviewing MRI Safety Information
The existing BCIG safety and MRI information is being reviewed to ensure that current and appropriate information and support are available.
Keeping Guidance Up to Date
The last revision of the BCIG website information was carried out approximately three years ago.
23 Specialist Members
The working group has 23 members who work within the fields of ENT, medical physics, magnetic resonance and cochlear implants.
Manufacturer Involvement
The three leading cochlear implant manufacturers are also represented on the working group.
Sharing Expertise Across Specialities
BAMRR’s involvement brings MRI expertise to a multidisciplinary group working to support safe and informed practice for patients with cochlear implants.
