Remembering Michael Columbini

The anniversary of Michael Columbini’s death takes place during MR Safety Week. In July 2001, the six-year-old was killed when a magnetic oxygen cylinder was accidentally taken into the MRI scan room.

MR Safety Week is an international annual event held around this anniversary to promote the importance of MR safety and best practice within MRI services.

This week is an opportunity to review our knowledge and working practices, share learning and identify where MR safety can be improved to prevent avoidable incidents. Join us each day for safety news and resources.
