Best Practice Statement: Safety During Medical Emergency Situations in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scanner

The Resuscitation council released this best practice statement in July 2026. Developed by a working group of the British Association of MR Radiographers (BAMRR) Policy Board, with input from professionals experienced in MRI safety, clinical practice, education and emergency response. It is aimed at raising MR safety awareness and incident prevention for staff groups who work outside the Radiology department, who may be called upon to deal with medical emergencies in MRI.
