Advanced Approaches to Body MRI

Advanced Approaches to Body MRI
26th February 2019, Liverpool
The challenges of imaging the abdomen, pelvis and lungs using MR include motion (bulk, respiratory and peristaltic) and the need to image large volumes to view subtle pathology or small lesions within clinically feasible scan times.  This meeting aims to explore advanced approaches to body MRI, focussing on the abdomen, pelvis and lungs, and to give some insight into the evolution of this new field.  The meeting aims to cover key imaging techniques including diffusion, perfusion, quantification (e.g. fat, iron), and elastography.  The meeting will also aim to discuss how advances in rapid MRI, such as compressed sensing and simultaneous multislice, can be brought to clinical practice in this challenging part of the body.
